Dispensing Review of Use of Medication (DRUM)

We review any regular medication on a repeat prescription annually and wherever possible the doctor will do this without you having to attend the surgery.

  • NHS England Directive is to reduce costs through wastage and effectiveness of
    medicines
  • It is the patient’s responsibility to order their repeat medication.
  • You can order your repeat medication up to 14 days before it is next due.
  • You must allow 3-5 working days for your repeat prescription to be completed.

Do any of the following prevent you from being able to take your medication?
Reduce Wastage: Have you stopped taking any medications and can these be removed from your Repeat List?
Are your medications stored in line with guidance on the Patient Information Leaflet?
