Dispensing Review of Use of Medication (DRUM)

We review any regular medication on a repeat prescription annually and wherever possible the doctor will do this without you having to attend the surgery.

  • NHS England Directive is to reduce costs through wastage and effectiveness of
    medicines
  • It is the patient’s responsibility to order their repeat medication.
  • You can order your repeat medication up to 14 days before it is next due.
  • You must allow 3-5 working days for your repeat prescription to be completed.

Reduce Wastage: Have you stopped taking any medication that can be removed from your repeat list?
Do you use your medications in date order, using the previous issue up before you start on the new issue?
